Who we are
This website, aworldworthsaving.com, is run by A World Worth Saving LLC, a Texas limited liability company that publishes picture books about real endangered animals. In this policy, “we” and “us” mean A World Worth Saving LLC.
What we collect
When you sign up for emails
If you sign up to hear about new books, we collect your email address. That is the only thing the form asks for. You will get an email asking you to confirm, and we will not send you anything else until you do.
When you sign up, our email service also records the date and time and the internet (IP) address the request came from, as a record that you asked to join.
Like most email services, Kit can tell us whether an email we sent was opened and which links in it were clicked. We use that only to see which emails are useful, not to build a profile of you.
When you visit the site
Our website is hosted by Cloudflare. To deliver pages and protect the site from attacks, Cloudflare handles the technical information every browser sends, such as your IP address, browser type and the page you asked for. We use this only to run and secure the site. We do not use it to identify you or to track you across other websites.
What we do not collect
- No cookies. This site does not set cookies, so there is nothing to accept or decline.
- Two things saved on your device. If you choose the Interactive or Static map, your browser remembers that choice so the map opens the same way next time. If you play one of our games, your browser keeps your best score. Neither is ever sent to us, and clearing your browser’s site data removes both.
- No tracking analytics. We do not run Google Analytics or any tool that follows you or builds a profile of you. We may later count visits with a privacy-friendly tool that sets no cookies, stores no personal information and only shows us totals, such as how many people looked at a page. If we turn one on, we will name it here.
- No advertising trackers. There are no ad or social media pixels on the site.
- No accounts or passwords. There is nothing to log in to.
- No payment details. We do not sell anything on this site or take donations here.
Every font and image on the site is served from our own website, so simply visiting a page does not send your information to any company other than Cloudflare, our host.
If we ever add anything else that changes this list, we will update this policy first, and ask for your permission where the law requires it.
How we use your email
We use your email address to tell you when a new A World Worth Saving book is out, and to send occasional news about our books and the animals in them. Every email has a link to unsubscribe.
We do not sell, rent or trade your email address, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.
Who else sees it
We use two service providers. They handle information only to provide their service to us.
- Kit (kit.com) stores our email list and sends our emails. Your email address is kept in our Kit account. See Kit’s privacy policy.
- Cloudflare hosts the website, as described above. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
We may also share information if the law requires it, for example to answer a valid court order.
Both providers are based in the United States, and your information is stored and processed there.
Children
Our books are for children, but this website’s sign-up is for adults. You must be 18 or older to sign up. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13.
Children are welcome to explore the map, read about the books and play the games, ideally with a grown-up. The games ask for no name, email or other detail, and a game’s best score stays in the browser it was played in. None of this collects anything that identifies a child, only the technical information every visit sends, described above.
If you believe a child has given us their email address, please email contact@aworldworthsaving.com and we will delete it.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe at any time with the link at the bottom of any of our emails. It takes one click.
- See, correct or delete the information we hold about you by emailing contact@aworldworthsaving.com. We will reply within 30 days.
If the law where you live gives you other rights over your personal information, email us and we will honor them.
How long we keep it
We keep your email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. When you unsubscribe, Kit keeps a record that you did, so that you are not emailed again by mistake. If you ask us to delete your address entirely, we will, and you will need to sign up again to hear from us.
Links to other sites
Buy Now takes you to Amazon, and Donate takes you to the charity’s own website. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and what you do there, including any purchase or donation, is between you and them. We do not receive your payment details, and we are not told who bought a book or who gave to a charity.
The same goes for every other site we link to, including our Instagram, TikTok and YouTube icons, the photo credits and the fact sources in the games. They are plain links. Nothing from those sites loads on our pages, and they learn nothing about your visit unless you click through.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use your email address, we will tell subscribers by email before it takes effect.
